We’re looking for a Director, Product Engineering to lead how we turn customer insight into manufacturable, durable, and compliant products at scale. This role owns the product engineering process end-to-end. From concept feasibility to tooling release and field performance with an emphasis on disciplined documentation, customer-driven design, and real-world reliability.

What You’ll Do
- Lead product design-for-manufacture (DFM), validation, and release for new product introductions.
- Translate customer needs and field feedback into scalable product solutions that perform across markets.
- Manage CAD design, materials selection, drawings, and BOM accuracy through NetSuite.
- Oversee testing, certification, and compliance (drop testing, Prop 65, RoHS, REACH, etc.).
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure seamless handoff from prototype to production.
- Develop and enforce product engineering SOPs, design standards, and revision control.
- Maintain structured documentation to ensure repeatability, traceability, and accountability.
- Act as the technical steward for product quality, manufacturability, and reliability across the portfolio.
- Build the foundation for a growing engineering function, setting standards that scale with the business.
Who You Are
- 10+ years in product or manufacturing engineering, ideally in hardware, consumer electronics, or durable goods.
- Strong command of CAD, PDM, and ERP systems (SolidWorks and NetSuite experience a plus).
- Skilled in plastics, mechanical assemblies, or surface finishing for high-reliability products.
- Experienced with testing protocols, compliance documentation, and quality validation for regulated markets.
- Process-obsessed, documentation-driven, and passionate about turning customer problems into elegant solutions.
- Hands-on and pragmatic; comfortable as the first and primary technical voice, but ready to build a team as the company grows.
